Collaborations with Owen Dixon

The following videos are collaborations with my brother Owen Dixon. Owen is a film maker, actor, screenwriter, and current RTF student at UT Austin. His work is inspired by indie horror video games, influenced by his almost 10 years in theatre, and always striving to rival his favorite filmmakers such as David Lynch or Bob Fosse. Our collaborations typically involve an original piece of music composed by myself.

Kiss of Death

Dear audience, thank you for taking the time to find the movie; it is a very one important to me. I wrote this script over two years ago as a cathartic form of expression of the depression I was going through. At the time, I was doubting all of my thoughts, and getting trapped in a constant loop of negativity. This film is loosely based on that, and it’s an extremely exaggerated and dramatized version of some of the things I’ve felt. It’s about a young man who has personified his self-doubt/self-hatred as a coping mechanism. “Sean” is an artistic way to metaphorically express those dark thoughts that we all feel. I’ve never experimented with psychedelic drugs, but I’ve watched lots of “trip reports” of people detailing their experiences and I’ve also done lots of research, specifically on the concept of an “ego death”, which found its way into this movie as a form for the character to “see himself”. Basically I'm trying to disclaim that although the character in the movie is indeed me, Owen, in reality I do not condone drug usage, nor does this reflect any of my real religious beliefs. Lastly, for the few of you who follow, care about, and understand the H2Owen lore, I will clarify that this character we follow in this film is indeed “The Real Owen Price Dixon”, the human living in the real world whose brain created all the Ewen characters. The events of the Ewen series happened within his subconscious. Though the ending is ambiguous, my next series will reveal what happened to Sean, as well as some other beloved characters. This film means a lot to me, as it was written at the worst time in my life, and it feels so relieving and amazing to finally be posting it at the best time in my life. Remember that mental health is no joke. It is important to be in touch with your emotions, and if you're feeling bad, always reach out for help. you are loved. HUGE SPECIAL THANKS TO MY BROTHERS: Jack Espinosa and Jake Dixon. Jack starred in this as every other role and Jake wrote the beautifully haunting ending theme. I love you guys and couldn't do it without you. Thank you to all of my friends who have supported me and my youtube channel. It’s the best feeling ever to be able to express myself in these crazy weird absurd ways. I love you all so much. -OPD

Maybe No Moons Expanded Universe

The following projects are collaborations with my close friends Abbi, Huailing, and Colman. We originally released an album under the moniker Maybe No Moons and have gone on to collaborate on numerous projects together.

Where You've Never Lived is an album written by my friend Huailing and mixed by myself. This record was my first foray into producing, mixing, and engineering a body of work written by someone else, and I couldn't be more proud of it. The record serves as a benchmark of my abilities and sonic instincts at the time it was released. Furthermore, it became the groundwork for further collaborations like 2024's Pocket / Silver Locket.

Metaphorical Death of the Block Dog is the first single under my project Reso Silverleaf. The collection of 5 songs features Colman on drums, Abbi on vocals, and synths arranged by Huailing. While being a spiritual successor to Maybe No Moons in personnel, the songs are from my voice and relate an abstract story. This project leans more towards alternative-rock than my previous indie-folk tendencies.
A Larger Design is an album written by Maybe No Moons. This record was engineered by David Hokanson at Fifty50 Studios in Dallas, TX and mixed by Calvin Lauber. Getting to work with Calvin and David were both dreams come true in their own right. I got to meet Calvin after a show when he was touring with Julien Baker's live band in support of her third record. David has remained a favorite collaborator of mine and has played a part in every project since this record.
